Lissy & Gracie Finding Comfort in Each Other
Lissy and Gracie are two sloth bears whose lives were stolen by the same cruel trade and whose stories of survival have now brought them together. Lissy was just three years old when she was found abandoned near the Indo-Nepal border, her muzzle pierced, her teeth smashed, and her whole young life already shaped by fear. Gracie, believed to be around twelve, had endured more than a decade of the same torment — blind in one eye, her body bearing the scars of years of pain and forced submission. Rescued by our partners Wildlife SOS from the same treacherous border region, these two bears carry wounds that run deep.
Today, Lissy and Gracie share an enclosure at the Wildlife SOS sanctuary in Agra and the bond forming between them is nothing short of extraordinary. Two bears finding comfort in one another as they take their first steps toward healing. By adopting Lissy and Gracie together, you will help fund the specialist veterinary care, rehabilitation and round-the-clock support they both need to recover. Your support means that, whatever they have been through, neither of them ever has to face what comes next on their own.
Human cruelty has blighted their lives, but they are healing, together!
