International Animal Rescue is Leaving Twitter/X

International Animal Rescue takes great pride in being a compassionate and ethical organisation. As part of our commitment to this, we continuously review our internal and external activities to ensure we live up to our beliefs in all areas.

Social media platforms act as effective tools for communicating our work, yet they also bear the duty of maintaining alignment with our ethical standards.

When we choose how to communicate our activities, we must ensure that our core values align with the platforms we choose to promote our mission. We must ensure that our dedication to positive change, empathetic relationships between animals and humans, and responsible environmental stewardship are reflected in all IAR’s operational aspects, including physical activities and online communications.

The direction that X/Twitter has recently taken no longer fits with our organisation’s fundamental values of inclusivity, respect, and humane treatment of all beings, so after careful consideration, after 17 years on the platform, we have decided to step away from X/Twitter.

Our commitment stands firm to connect with you through our other platforms, website and email, which better represent our values while enabling us to sustain meaningful discussions and bring about significant improvements for animal welfare and conservation.

We will still be sharing our activities and communicating our news through the following channels: –

We hope you understand our decision and appreciate your ongoing support and understanding. As always, have our heartfelt thanks. Our pledge, as always, is to carry out our work to save and protect animals worldwide, and we will continue to keep you updated.
