UK volunteers Helen and Chris complete a day's dogwalking marathon

17th March 2009

UK volunteers Helen Partridge and Chris Wills have successfully completed an entire day’s dogwalking at our centre in Goa to raise funds for the animals there.

Volunteers Chris and Helen raising funds for our Goa centreThe pair set themselves the challenge as their last big effort to help International Animal Rescue before leaving the centre at the end of this week. They were resoundingly successful, not just at completing the dogwalking, but also at raising funds, thanks to the generosity of so many of our wonderful supporters. They have sent their own personal message of thanks:

“We wanted to say a huge thank you to all the supporters who dug deep into their pockets without even knowing us. We really didn’t expect such an outpouring of support and are amazed that the amount raised has reached £1,496 to date, with some friends and family still promising to donate, and the website still open for another few weeks. It has been great reading all the messages, and we would love to know who you all are! We are discussing with International Animal Rescue how best to utilise the final amount at the Animal Tracks centre but we have a few ideas - from creating a separate puppy quarantine area to enhancing the puppy den with enrichment, so watch this space!

If you want to see photos and read about our experience on the day, log onto our blog at: www.keepingyouposted.org (account name Babybee). We have also put some of our favourite photos of our foster pup Stripey at her new home, both from when we took her there last Thursday and when we visited her for the last time yesterday.

Best wishes to all you fellow animal lovers, Helen & Chris xx”

International Animal Rescue would like to thank Helen and Chris and everyone who supported them for making a real difference to the lives of animals in Goa. If you didn’t get round to sponsoring them but would still like to do so, please visit www.justgiving.com/animaltracks - it’s that easy!
