Share a #bunchofbananas
This #givingtuesday we need your help to spread the word about our amazing Orangutan Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre! We want all of our supporters to come together and join our thunderclap so that on #Givingtuesday (2nd December 2014) we can create a wave of social media attention and tell the world about the orangutans we have rescued from horrendous situations and brought to the safety of our beautiful rescue centre. The message you post will invite people to share a bunch of bananas with the gorgeous baby orangutans in our rescue centre in West Kalimantan, Borneo.
A donation of just £3/€4/$5 will buy enough bananas to feed 10 baby orangutans!
International Animal Rescue’s team is working in West Kalimantan to rescue and care for baby orangutans that have been taken from their mothers to be illegally sold as pets and adults that have spent their entire lives in captivity, chained up or imprisoned in tiny cages. Our human-orangutan conflict team also comes to the aid of orangutans left stranded when their forest home is destroyed and translocates these vulnerable animals to safe areas of protected forest. The project is an ambitious one but we are committed to rescuing and rehabilitating as many orangutans as we can and giving them a second chance to live safely in their natural environment. Join our thunderclap today to help us continue saving the lives of these innocent orangutans.
