Peggy Update - Spring 2013

19th March 2013

Peggy continues to be a bundle of joy at the Animal Tracks centre. She can lift the spirits of the most downhearted. She also has a knack for singling out people or animals that need some extra comfort and cheer. New arrivals at the centre will often find Peggy loitering outside their kennel with a cheerful expression and a little wag of the tail. And she is always happy to console anxious owners whose pets are sick or injured. Peggy will know instinctively who they are and distract from their worries with some of her own special brand of doggy therapy, demanding their attention and showing real enthusiasm when they pet her.

No doubt Easter will bring some special seasonal tit bits and treats and another reason to indulge in some typical Peggy-like shenanigans. Peggy needs no excuse for high spirits; she’s not a devotee of any particular religion but certainly loves to indulge in a party. Peggy and her colleagues, two, three or four legged, take their responsibilities extremely seriously but that’s not to say they can’t find time for a bit of fun and frivolity on such auspicious occasions.

We’ve said it before, but it still remains true that Peggy is a wonderful example of how well animals bounce back from setbacks and make the most of life, regardless of disability or a bad start in life. She is as bright-eyed and boisterous as ever and shows no sign of slowing down with age. We all hope she will continue to brighten the days of all who meet her for many years to come.

Of course, without the wonderful team of vets at the IAR clinic, Peggy wouldn’t be with us today, so we are truly grateful to them for the great work they do – and to you for supporting it.
