We are inviting members of the public to take part in a ‘once in a lifetime’ skydive challenge while also raising vital funds to help suffering animals.

Those taking part will be joining Scottish actor Steven Cree who is overcoming his fear of heights in order to raise funds, stating on social media that “International Animal Rescue is an incredible charity” and “If we don’t help the animals, who’s going to?” @MrStevenCree

The skydive challenge takes place at 12pm on Saturday, 21st May in Salisbury, the home of Go Skydive, the UK’s leading tandem skydive centre. Each participant is harnessed safely and securely to a professional parachute instructor before free falling from 10,000 feet at a speed of 125 mph.

Says Jeanette Campbell, Community Fundraising Officer: “You will experience an out of this world adrenaline rush before enjoying a magical journey down to the ground. It’s a fantastic opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and do something amazing for suffering animals around the world.

“The aim of the event is to raise vital funds for our work saving animals’ lives,” she explains. “So we’re asking that all participants commit to raising a minimum of £400 in sponsorship. We will provide fundraising support and ideas in the lead up to the challenge.”

For questions about skydiving, please email [email protected] and visit Go Skydive’s terms and conditions .

Says Alan Knight OBE, IAR Chief Executive: “All credit to Steven Cree for taking on a challenge that will take him way out of his comfort zone. We really appreciate his support for IAR’s work and his help raising awareness of it. Now we’re hoping others will follow Steven’s lead and sign up for what will doubtless be a day to remember for everyone involved!”
