International Animal Rescue sends congratulations to Laurence Van Atten, its US office manager, on the event of her wedding to James Holyoak.
Before joining IAR in 2006 Laurence studied Wildlife Conservation at the University of Massachusetts and received a Master’s Degree in Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
As part of her degree course she spent three months at the Agra bear sanctuary studying the benefits of environmental enrichment to the rescued blind bears. Laurence made such a good impression during her time in Agra that she was subsequently invited to become IAR’s US representative.
Laurence works tirelessly raising awareness of the charity, and also manages a small rescue, fostering and rehoming project for homeless cats and dogs.
IAR wishes Laurence and James a long, happy and healthy life together.
