GLOBAL SHORTAGE OF HONEY TRACED TO A SINGLE SLOTH BEAR.

After months of bland porridge and bitter green tea, the cause of the 2021 honey crisis has been traced to a single sloth bear.

Today on April 1st, at approximately 9.09am local time, one of the keepers was performing a routine check when they discovered broken pots of honey hidden away in a bush. The keeper followed a trail of honey leading from the bush and was shocked to discover local bear, Ambika, absolutely COVERED in the sticky substance.

Expert analysis has revealed that the quantity of honey is equal to ¾ of the world’s supply, leaving only a quarter to be used for human consumption. This has lead to outrage across the planet, with many grumpy workers staging protests on their morning Zoom calls.

In a statement released earlier today, Joe King, Head of Honey at International Animal Rescue, said:

‘While we are pleased that the culprit has been found, we now must replenish the honey supply at the sanctuary to keep the bears and staff happy. Once the public have had their breakfast, we need their support in order to achieve this. They can donate on this social media post or on our website!’

Ambika was approached for a statement, but did not respond as she does not speak English.

Please make a donation today and help us bring honey and happiness back to the sloth bears!

Happy April Fools!
