Auction of artwork by Anthony Russell helps raise funds for orangutans

11th October 2012

Renowned Kenyan artist and conservationist Anthony Russell has generously donated one of his magnificent works of art in support of International Animal Rescue and the creation of our new orangutan rehabilitation centre. The piece has been put up for auction through the Linveco Cultural Foundation, a UK charity that invests in new and emerging talent in the areas of art and design, literature, film and photography (http://linvecoculturalfoundation.org).

The picture is featured in Be Beyond magazine which sets out the auction terms and conditions and provides background information on IAR’s orangutan rescue and rehabilitation project in West Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo.) http://linvecoculturalfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/BB-auction.pdf

The auction runs between October and December 2012.

Says Robin Fegan, IAR’s Development Manager: “Anthony Russell is an artist, designer, musician and – above all – a passionate and committed conservationist. The auction of this picture is a wonderful opportunity for art lovers to acquire one of his beautiful works of art and, in doing so, support our work to protect the lives and the future of orangutans in Western Borneo.

We’re extremely grateful to Anthony Russell for donating his work for auction. Now it’s down to animal-loving art lovers everywhere to be equally generous when they are bidding for it!
