Intro

International Animal Rescue (IAR Costa Rica) is dedicated to protecting the wonderful wildlife of Costa Rica. From our purpose-built Wildlife Rescue and Education Center in Nosara, on the Pacific West Coast of Costa Rica we have a 24 x 7 wildlife rescue service.

Our aim is always to rehabilitate the rescued wildlife and, ultimately, release them back into the wild. Where this is not possible, we provide safe sanctuary at our facility.

One of the main threats to wildlife in the region, particularly howler monkeys, is electrocution on uninsulated power lines and transformers. Our prevention program, Stop the Shocks, aims to mitigate this threat by working with communities, SINAC (State Conservation Authority), MINAE (Ministry of Environment and Energy) and the electricity companies to identify and insulate hotspots and implement strategies that safeguard wildlife.

We are delighted that Costa Rican Trails is supporting our work and, like us, values the incredible wildlife in the country.

All of our work is funded by the public and each donation will make an amazing impact by protecting wildlife in Costa Rica.

It would awesone if you can make a donation above, and if you are visiting Nosara, you can book an educational tour of our sanctuary here.
