Update from the Slow Loris Project - Three Slow Lorises Released

14th October 2014

A new post on our slow loris diaries has news of the release of three of our slow lorises in Java.

Three Javan slow lorises were translocated from our Primate Rescue Centre in Ciapus, Bogor to a habituation cage in West Java.

The three slow lorises were rescued from a market trader in July 2013. They were in a bad condition when they arrived at the centre and suffered from various health problems such as teeth damage, dehydration, malnutrition and stress.

After completing their rehabilitation at the centre, they have been released to a habituation cage where they will stay for a month, then they will be released to the surrounding forest on Mount Sawal in Ciamis, West Java.
