New ambulance to the rescue of wildlife in E. Sussex

3rd March 2002

The new widlife rescue ambulanceWe are delighted to have been able to support the work of Trevor Weeks of the Wildlife Rescue Ambulance Service (WRAS) by providing funding towards the ambulance.

WRAS provides an excellent emergency rescue service. It is called upon regularly to rescue swans, foxes, badgers, birds, reptiles and mammals, providing transfer to a treatment or rehabilitation centre or release back to the wild. Trevor works entirely voluntarily and in his ’spare time’ attends fundraising events jointly with IAR. He even called out our intrepid Chief Executive on Christmas day to rescue a poor goose that had been shot in both legs and was aimlessly swimming in the river at Newhaven!
