International Animal Rescue Wins JustGiving Charity of the Year!

23rd November 2016

International Animal Rescue beat thousands of charities across the UK to be awarded Charity of the Year at the Justgiving Award Ceremony in London last night (Tuesday 22 November.)

We were one of three finalists in line for the award, along with the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Reverse Rett.

Alan Knight, IAR’s Chief Executive, attended the ceremony with a number of members of the fundraising team. He said: “It has been humbling to hear about the efforts and achievements of so many incredible people who have gone to amazing lengths to raise funds for worthy causes close to their hearts.

“I am full of admiration and respect for the work of Reverse Rett and the Motor Neurone Disease Association and I can’t deny it came as a big surprise to us all to hear that International Animal Rescue was the winner of the Charity of the Year award.

“Everyone at IAR is proud and delighted by such a resounding endorsement of our work. Our teams at home and abroad are completely committed to our mission to help suffering animals and they will be overjoyed at this acknowledgement of their efforts.

“I also can’t thank our supporters enough for their energy and enthusiasm for raising funds and spreading the word about what we do. They are the ones who deserve the award because without them, we couldn’t save the life of a single animal. And it is thanks to them that we have received this wonderful award.

“I also want to thank JustGiving for helping so many thousands of groups and individuals across the world to raise the money they need to make a positive difference to people’s and animals’ lives. JustGiving makes things simple and straightforward for people striving to change or improve situations that are often difficult and desperate.”
