IAR on worldwide television

1st February 2002

About two years ago we were approached by United Productions who were looking for ideas for a new series of animal welfare programmes for Channel 5 in the UK.

After prolonged negotiations the filming finally started during November 1999. The film crew consisting of four, director, producer, sound man and cameraman spent a total of 8 weeks filming in Goa. They wanted to record the life of our staff and volunteers through their experiences which often meant being up at unsociable hours. The film crew were very understanding and we believe have captured many moments that are unique to the life of our team in Goa.

The series ran through July on Channel 5 and was called ’Vets Abroad’. It will be released on Animal Planet worldwide through the Discovery Channel, these are both satellite channels and along with Channel 5 will give IAR huge exposure and provide increased awareness for IAR’s work and we have already gained many new supporters.
