IAR partners with the Queen of Hearts in Goa

1st December 2008

Queen of HeartsIn Goa we have to take advantage of the tourist season to raise as much money as we can and to drum up support from the many tourists who come to visit the state. It is impossible to ignore the number of stray dogs on the beaches and roads and we encourage everyone to come and visit our centre and see first hand the work we do with the animals.

This year we are working with John and Charlie who, in partnership together, run the Queen Of Hearts, a magnificent wooden sail boat, and offer half or full day cruises on the Arabian Sea. With room for approximately 40 people the atmosphere is always buzzing on board and there is something to suit everyone. Passengers can sit and chat and have a few drinks, they can lie back and top up their tan or tuck away in a quiet shady corner and simply enjoy the spectacular view of the endless sea.

John and Charlie have invited International Animal Rescue to team up with the Queen of Hearts to promote the cruises and to sell tickets and in return a generous percentage of the ticket sales will be donated to the charity. This fundraising project has great potential in terms of raising money for us and at the same time we are giving supporters the opportunity to do their bit for the animals without any

efforts other than to sit back and enjoy a great day out at sea.

We would like to thank John and Charlie for inviting us to partner with them in this way and for their generous donations. Our gratitude also goes out to all the venues who have kindly agreed to help us sell tickets to raise lots of money to help the animals.
