IAR animal hospital takes in first spring casualties

Injured harrier now in the care of IAR MaltaAt the beginning of April the International Animal Rescue bird hospital in Malta took in its first spring casualty - an injured harrier which a police patrol found in a country layby in the south of Malta. The raptor had a broken wing which is now being treated by Max Farrugia of IAR Malta.

As well as this protected bird species, the hospital also received two hedgehogs.

One had been hit by a car and had to be put to sleep, but the second one is recovering well and will be released in the coming weeks.
