Dr Kevin D’Mello, one of our excellent vets in Goa, has been invited to the Netherlands to gain experience in orthopaedic surgery techniques.
IAR are keen to learn how to pin and plate broken limbs as currently there are no surgeries in Goa that can carry out these procedures. If an animal breaks a limb the only thing we can do is set it in the position it is broken in, which is a real pity as the animal will never get a proper home.
While in Europe Kevin will visit the IAR HQ offices and will spend a few days at the Celia Hammond animal sterilisation clinic in London to look at the latest techniques in sterilisation.
