The 2005 British Birdwatching Fair

1st June 2005

IAR will again have a stand at this year’s British Birdwatching Fair from 19–21 August at Egleton Nature Reserve, Rutland Water.

This year we will be unveiling a brand new look with the help of five new exhibition boards showing the scope of our work to help suffering animals. In pride of place for this event will be the display on Malta, bringing visitors up to date with IAR’s work to protect migratory birds against illegal shooting. It will depict the new high-speed patrol boat donated by IAR to the Maltese police to help them combat illegal hunting at sea. BBC coverage of IAR’s Malta campaign will also be on show. Also on display will be our ongoing project to rescue and rehabilitate dancing bears, as well as information on IAR’s rescue centres and veterinary clinics in India. Max Farrugia, Chairman of IAR Malta, is making a special trip over to the Fair and will be available at the stand to answer your questions.

Visit Marquee 4, stands 54/55 to obtain an early copy of the latest edition of Animal Tracks, IAR’s supporter magazine. We’ll also have cuddly teddy bears and other small gifts for children on offer, as well as some exquisite paintings and illustrations by two well-known artists - Andrew Fitchett and Harry Potter illustrator Cliff Wright.

For the third year running our team will be joined by loyal volunteers Colin and Susan Smith who do so much to support us, both at the Birdfair and throughout the year. Don’t miss the opportunity to compete for one of their fantastic tombola prizes!

If you’re coming to the Fair, be sure to pay us a visit. We’ll be delighted to talk to you about the wonderful work of the charity and tempt you with some of the goodies on display!
