Help Little Leo Today!
Recently in Armenia, witnesses were shocked by the sight of a tiny bear cub being walked on a leash like a dog. Trembling with fear, the helpless little bear was being pulled along the streets by his neck.
Word soon reached us that a man was keeping the bear cub in his house as a pet and our investigators set off immediately to track him down and rescue the little bear. He claimed to have found the tiny cub all alone in the countryside. But it’s highly unlikely that a mother bear would abandon her cub and far more probable that she had been killed before her baby was taken.
The poor little thing must have been traumatised by the loss of his mother and the nightmare chaos of the city. The frightened little bear was rushed to our centre for treatment and care.
We have named him Leo. He is a tiny little thing and deeply traumatised by what he has been through. He is also in very poor physical condition. We can only hope that our vets can repair the damage that has been done to him.
With no mother to keep him safe and teach him all the skills he will need to survive, we will do everything we can to help Leo grow into a strong, healthy young bear.
But stress is a huge factor in the health of young animals that have had a very poor start in life. Leo has a long journey of recovery ahead of him and the next few months are going to be crucial in determining his fate.
With your help I know we can build a bright future for Leo. But we can’t do it without you.
