India

One of International Animal Rescue's key areas of activity is in India. Our two veterinary clinics and rescue shelters are located in Goa and Tamil Nadu in the south of the country. We also fund two main sanctuaries for dancing bears in Agra not far from Delhi in the north, and Bannerghatta near Bangalore in the south, as well as a temporary holding centre in Bhopal in central India.

International Animal Rescue's centre in Goa is known as Animal Tracks. It is located in the town of Mapusa in the north of Goa. Animal Tracks was set up in 1998 by John Hicks and his wife Jo to relieve the suffering of the local stray dog and cat populations but has since expanded to treat all kinds of animals.
