Steve Irwin

We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Australian environmentalist and television personality Steve Irwin who died after being struck in the chest by a stingray while filming in Queensland’s Great Barrier Reef. He will always be remembered for his larger than life personality and his exuberant passion for wildlife. He brought the thrills and excitement of his close encounters with some of our most dangerous wild animals into the homes of TV viewers around the world. Countless people learned to share Steve’s enthusiasm for nature while watching him in action, and he leaves a legacy among his many fans of a deep appreciation and respect for our wildlife. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time. He will be sorely missed.
