New patrons help IAR prove that dancing bear trade is no laughing matter

1st March 2006

Bill Bailey and bear cubFollowing his highly successful visit to the Agra bear sanctuary in November, UK comedian and actor Bill Bailey kindly agreed to become a patron of International Animal Rescue and continue to promote our work rescuing and rehabilitating the dancing bears. We can’t thank Bill enough for his involvement with IAR - already his genuine interest in the issue and his wonderful ability for getting on with people and animals have proved how lucky we are to have his support.

And if this wasn’t enough, Bill’s fellow comedian Jo Brand, who originally helped us enlist Bill’s support, has herself agreed to become an IAR patron. We hope that at some stage Jo may get the chance to visit the sanctuary in India and see for herself the rescued bears in their new home. The support of two such articulate and talented celebrity figures is a fantastic boost to our campaign and we’ve no doubt that it will prove invaluable in raising public awareness of IAR’s work.
