At first there was nothing unusual about Brownie. He was caught in the village of Anjuna and was taken to the IAR centre for sterilisation and vaccination. Job done, we dropped him back and thought that was that. However a few days later Brownie had found his way back to the centre and was hovering around. Again he was dropped and again he came back!
Just as he was getting used to his new-found freedom in Assagao he sustained a wound in the ear which became maggot-infested and we had to admit him again. He has now fully recovered.
This is a case of a dog adopting us and not the other way round. Brownie has settled in nicely with other dogs from day one and he is now a part of the family.
Furthermore he is a great testament to the way we treat our animals. If we weren't good to them, would they be coming back of their own free will after we set them free!
