Man uses mobile phone to help bring poacher to justice

A man in the US has been cited for illegally poaching a pregnant mule deer after someone else used a camera phone to capture the killing.
The Associated Press reported that Blake March has been cited to appear at Idaho's 6th District Court in April, accused of illegally killing the mule deer out of season.
Mr March was caught in the act by Kyle Hall, who was driving past the field in which the killing took place in.
Witnessing the action, Mr Hall stopped and confronted Mr March. He used his camera phone to take pictures of the animal, as well as the culprit and his vehicle.
He subsequently emailed the images to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, and officials were able to cite Mr March.
Mule deer are found in the western states of the US. While they are currently considered at a low risk of extinction by the IUCN, the killing of them is carefully controlled by authorities in the country.

On 4 November the people of Massachusetts, USA voted overwhelmingly in favour of the Greyhound Protect Act. This legislation will phase out commercial dog racing in the state by 2010.
