Break
The
Cage
Intro
Across Armenia beautiful brown bears are being poached from the wild and locked up in tiny cages. The mother bears are killed for sport and the cubs are either left in the wild to die or captured and sold into a life of misery. Those that are left to fend for themselves often end up in snares and those that are captured end up in tiny squalid cages, surviving on scraps and filthy, stagnant water. It’s hard to decide which is the crueller fate.
Our partners in Armenia have just rescued a bear from these very conditions - she had been shot in the face and left to die. Please watch the rescue video and sign the petition so we can stop other bears from suffering.
International Animal Rescue is on a mission to help suffering bears in Armenia and we need your help!
Sign The Petition
Along with our Armenian partners, we’re pushing for a dramatic increase in the fines for poaching wild bears. Even though the species is red listed, the fines are currently a measly $2,500.
Take action now – sign the petition and call for an end to the poaching of wild bears in Armenia.
What we're doing
We have already rescued 30 bears from horrendous conditions but 50 more, that we know of, are still waiting to be freed. Our goal is to free all these tortured bears in Armenia and rehabilitate and eventually release those that are physically and mentally equipped to fend for themselves in the wild. Those that are not viable for release will be given a permanent home in sanctuaries where they will be well cared for, well fed and have the freedom to express natural bear behaviour.
