Dr Padmavathy - Head of Administration & Veterinary Surgeon
Padma completed her veterinary degree in 2002 at Madras Veterinary College and joined International Animal Rescue Trichy in 2006. She is highly skilled in performing soft tissue operations. She left us in 2010 and got a post as a governmental vet but reduced her duties to part-time work there after she gave birth to her second child. As her motivation to work in the field of animal welfare is very high, she rejoined in 2011 and now takes care of organising the centre work and financial issues. She works on an honorary basis.
Dr Jothiraj - Head of Administration
Jothiraj is a recently retired Joint Director and an Honorary Animal Welfare Officer with the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI). He is the administrative head of International Animal Rescue in Trichy and oversees all the finances. Jothiraj is dedicated to animal welfare and is full of innovative ideas. He joined in 2007.
Dr Siranjeevi Kumar and Dr Inbaselvi
SK and Inba do the clinical work at the centre. Inba graduated in 2003 at Madras Veterinary College and joined IAR Trichy in 2007. She is a very experienced surgeon. SK joined in 2009 after graduation from Madras Veterinary College in 2009. He is a highly motivated and skilled vet and a very good organiser. SK and Inba work as a team; there is no junior or senior.
Dr Deike Schacht
Deike is the founder of International Animal Rescue Trichy and a veterinary surgeon from Germany. She lived in India with her family for many years and saw the need to reduce and control the number of street dogs and puppies. She moved back to Germany in 2007 but keeps in close contact with the clinic and visits regularly. The clinic and shelter in Trichy are her brainchild.
